This policy covers the website and blog at [fahadsheikh.net] and the software I publish, including apps, browser extensions and self-hosted tools (together, “my sites and software”). I’m [Fahad Sheikh], an independent developer. “I”, “me” and “my” mean me. If a product has its own privacy notice, that notice adds to this one.
The short version
- Most of my software runs on your own device or on a server you control. Your data stays there, and I don’t receive it.
- I don’t sell personal data, show ads, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- I collect the minimum needed to run a site or service, and I delete it when it’s no longer needed.
Information I collect
When you visit my sites
- Server and security logs: IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the time. My hosting and security providers collect these automatically to deliver pages and block abuse. Logs are kept for a short time, usually no more than 30 days.
- Analytics: if a site uses analytics, I use privacy-friendly, aggregate tools that don’t build advertising profiles. Where possible they don’t use tracking cookies.
- Information you give me: if you email me, subscribe to updates or leave a comment, I receive what you send, such as your name, email address and message. I use it only to reply, send what you asked for, or show your comment.
When you use my software
- Local and self-hosted software: data you create or connect, such as email, contacts, calendars and settings, is stored on your device or on a server you run. I have no access to it.
- Optional services I operate: some software can use a service I run, such as a notification or sync service. I describe each one in the app. These services process only what they need to work, for example an account identifier and a device token for

I describe each one in the app. These services process only what they need to work, for example an account identifier and a device token for sending a notification. They don’t store message contents.
- Crash reports and update checks: if the software checks for updates or sends crash reports, it sends only the app version, the operating system, and technical details of the error.
Google user data
Some of my software lets you connect a Google account, for example to read and send Gmail, manage contacts, or show your calendar. When you do:
- What the app accesses: only the Google data needed for the feature you turned on, such as email messages and labels, contacts, or calendar events, as shown on Google’s consent screen.
- How it’s used: only to provide that feature to you. For example, the app shows your mail, sends mail you write, syncs your contacts, and tells you when new mail arrives.
- Where it’s stored: on your device or on the server you run the software on. It isn’t sent to me or to any third party, except Google itself and infrastructure you choose to run it on.
- Sharing: I don’t share, sell or transfer Google user data to anyone. I don’t use it for advertising. I don’t use it to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. No person reads it, unless you give explicit permission (for example, to help with a support request you send), it’s needed for security reasons, or the law requires it.
- Retention and deletion: the data stays as long as the account is connected. If you disconnect the account in the app or delete the app’s data, it’s removed. You can also revoke access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Raven’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Other connected accounts
The same rules apply to other accounts you connect, such as Microsoft Outlook or an IMAP mail server. The data is used only to provide the feature, stored where you run the software, and never sold or shared. You can revoke Microsoft access at https://account.live.com/consent/Manage or https://myapps.microsoft.com.
Cookies
My sites use only the cookies needed to work, such as keeping you signed in or remembering a setting, plus any set by the security provider that protects the site. I don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Service providers
I use a few providers to run my sites and services, such as web hosting, content delivery and security (for example, Cloudflare), and email delivery. They process data only on my instructions and only to provide their service.
Security
I use reasonable measures to protect data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption of stored credentials where the software supports it, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and I can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children
My sites and software are not directed at children under 13, or under the minimum age in your country, and I don’t knowingly collect their personal data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR or CCPA, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict how it’s processed. Most data my software handles is on your own device or server, so you control it directly. For anything I hold, such as emails you sent me or a newsletter subscription, contact me and I’ll respond within 30 days.
International transfers
My providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where the law requires it, appropriate safeguards are in place.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, I’ll make it prominent on the site or in the affected software.
